Network for Cardiovascular Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine
CardioPharmaGENET aims to advance personalized medicine in cardiovascular care by leveraging pharmacogenomics (PGx) to optimize drug therapies. In cardiovascular medicine, this approach is especially critical, given the significant patient variability in drug responses to therapies.
CardioPharmaGENET CA24165
CardioPharmaGENET is a pan-European initiative focused on advancing cardiovascular care through pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine. The project brings together researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to standardize the collection, analysis, and application of genetic data, enabling more precise and effective treatment strategies. By integrating advanced technologies such as AI and fostering collaboration across Europe, the initiative aims to improve patient outcomes, reduce adverse drug reactions, and support the widespread adoption of personalized therapies in clinical practice

Project Overview
Building on its core mission, CardioPharmaGENET focuses on addressing key gaps in the integration of pharmacogenomics into cardiovascular care. Despite significant scientific progress, the application of genetic insights in everyday clinical practice remains limited and inconsistent across Europe. This project directly tackles these challenges by promoting standardization, interoperability, and evidence-based implementation.
The initiative is structured around multiple areas of action, including research coordination, development of clinical guidelines, advancement of AI-supported tools, and alignment of regulatory frameworks. Through these activities, the project aims to create a unified approach to pharmacogenomics that can be adopted across different healthcare systems.
A major priority is the development of a centralized European platform that will serve as a knowledge hub for clinicians, researchers, and policymakers. This platform will consolidate fragmented data, support informed decision-making, and enable more efficient use of genomic information in treatment planning.
In parallel, CardioPharmaGENET invests in education, training, and knowledge exchange. By organizing workshops, training schools, and collaborative research opportunities, the project strengthens capacities and ensures that healthcare professionals are equipped to apply pharmacogenomic insights in real-world settings.
